Two Tears
by Rolf
My breath was caught in my throat – I couldn't swallow or speak either. The butterflies that had been slowly building all day beat out a rhythm like native drums I was sure you could hear as I waited in nervous anticipation. My knees threatened to knock together in time. Time was a very relative thing, hours seemingly gone within seconds while the last thirty seconds seemed to last for years. I know you didn't expect this of me, at least not so soon but I was holding out. A tear threatened and fell as you said
Come here, young man.
A tear threatened and fell as you said
Yes,
To love eternal.
